cancer in september

general

Been on a cleaning rampage, have you? Closets, attics, bookshelves, filing cabinets—it’s against Cancer’s nature to throw things away, but many of you have been on a ruthless campaign of sifting, sorting, and discarding. It’s as if you’re subconsciously making room for...something....

What it is you’re making room for is still unknown, but in September, you’ll get a few pivotal clues. This may sound strange, but right now, your uncharacteristic pruning urges are closely related to your relationships. You’re entering a new phase in your personal life, and physical baggage is easier to see (and hence easier to toss) than emotional baggage.

The summer has been a time for pondering the past, poring over old love letters and old disappointments, but you’re finished with that now. Dump the last box of clutter into the garbage, and get out there. Experiment. Try something you’d never think to try in a million years.

How about walking up to that cute waiter at the bistro and telling him you’d like to have him for dinner? You’ll have twelve years of Pluto in your opposing sign to perfect your new act, so you may as well start practicing now.

sex life

Some Cancers are contemplating changes at home. Moving in? Moving out? Getting rid of the dog to make room for a human bedmate? Whatever it is you’re plotting, you’ll enter September in the thick of it. There’s no more waiting around, indecisively pondering imponderables; you’ll be forced to move, and move quickly. Use your best instincts.

You’re also in the midst of some great love life luck. Even blind dates could turn out spectacularly—if you need such a thing, you have my permission to ask for/accept dates with every single person who turns your head this month.

At least one unexpected conversation will lead to a life-altering insight about the nature of love and life itself. Dinner, flirting, life-altering insight—what more could you ask for?

public life

Aside from home and love life renovation, many Cancers are also throwing over their jobs in some way. Some of you are changing jobs entirely; some of you are just tweaking your job descriptions, daily routines, and patterns of interaction with the boss. It’s been a process so far, and I know you’ve tried to keep everyone’s best interests at heart.

But this is the month that finally spells it out: will you be able to continue working in the way you have in the past? Is compromise possible? Or is it time to dust off the resume and start looking? After the 10th, you’ll be a fantastic position to benefit from the help of a benefactor; if you do decide to make a change, let other people know. Ask for referrals and leads. Network!
