Taurus in October 2008

taurus in october

general

It’s one of those months when, no matter how much you try, other people seem to steal your thunder. Partners, colleagues, lovers, friends—it’s all about them. Your mood this month depends on how well you can adapt to this and frankly, you’re almost fed up.

As the month progresses, you could find yourself feeling something akin to paranoia. It’s as if everyone’s out for Me-Me-Me, perfectly willing to gaslight, steamroll, and sell you down the river for their own interests, the bastards.

Please trust me: for the most part, it only seems that way. There’s a combination of factors working here. Firstly, you’re at a critical ebb of your annual cycle—it’s your unbirthday, if you will, and that always makes you touchy and tired. Secondly, everyone around you is undergoing uncertainty and upheaval of their own; can you blame them for sometimes retreating into survival mode?

By the time the end of the month rolls around, you’ll have the chance to mend a few fences and smooth a few feathers, if you let your good sense overrule your temporary irritation. Dinner party, maybe? At least make the gesture.

sex life

Your love life is still in transition (read: it’s a mess.) Partners are behaving badly, and you can’t seem to get what you really want. They’re sexy when they’re naughty, though, aren’t they? This month, tell ‘em so.

A chapter in your sexual story is coming to an end, and a new one is about to begin; the only way to move forward in October is to start discussing things. Don’t expect to work everything out immediately—it’ll take more than a few words to bring about real change—but this is a good time to begin the work of hashing out a few old issues.

It’ll feel more like a competition or a debate than amour, for the most part. Keep your head, and be willing to walk away of things get too heated. It’ll take time for everyone to really say what’s on their minds.

public life

Your working life gets a little easier as the month progresses. All the snags and snarls of the first two weeks of October will sort themselves out by Halloween, and the pushy tone of last month gradually fades into the background—you’ll find relief all around.

Something about your public reputation starts to heal, too. You’ve taken a few maverick stances over the last few years, and have faced heavy criticism; you still have some major challenges to come, but if you continue to face them with courage, realism, and good cheer, you’ll be fine.
There’s a mentor somewhere near, possibly in the form of a child or someone younger. Something about them screams authority, tradition, and compromise—and something about you that screams “Eff off!” Hmm. Perhaps not the wisest way to handle things. Try to find some common ground; this person has something to show you.
