Virgo in August 2008

virgo, the virgin

24 august -- 22 september

virgo in august

Almost from the first week, this will be a busy month for Virgo. We’re talking crazy-busy, with tasks, requests, calls, invitations, propositions, and who-knows-what-else flying in from all directions. Can you imagine yourself as the center of a very hectic flurry of attention?

If not, get ready to be astounded. You’ll have the coquettish charm of Venus in your sign all month; your attraction factor may rise to almost uncomfortable levels. Fight them off if you have to, because there’s also Mercury, Mars, the Sun, and Saturn, all clamoring for attention; each one of these planets has you as their outlet this month.

Call in reinforcements. Delegate, subcontract, call in favors, do whatever you have to do; you’ll need all the extra time you can get. A few extra personalities wouldn’t hurt, either—your mutable-sign adaptability will get a real workout, since the range of issues that crop up will be random (possibly) and surprising (certainly.)

August 22 – 24 could bring some very surprising news indeed, especially concerning partners. Last month, you may have felt the first tremors of the upcoming Saturn/Uranus opposition in Virgo/Pisces. August will bring more.

[Insert dramatic music here] You are at the center of an epic clash between the conservative urge to maintain security, and the radical urge to embrace new options [climactic cymbal crash!]

Last month, Michael Lutin (one of my long-time favorite no-nonsense astrologers...visit his site here) pointed out that many Virgos are attempting to open up their existing relationships. This is the perfect symbol of the pull between Saturn and Uranus. Saturn desires the stability of a long-term relationship, while Uranus desires the freedom to explore other options. Polyamory, in one form or another, has a definite appeal; there are countless Virgo-ruled folks debating this issue right now, both with their partners and within themselves.

If you’re one of the Virgos who are negotiating for their romantic and sexual freedom, at least you’re in good company. Even if you’re not dealing with this on a romantic level, you’re probably dealing with it within the confines of another type of relationship.

Whatever the case, know this: a balance needs to be struck. Without Saturn, we can’t consolidate anything. Without Uranus, we can’t grow.

[Drum roll please...] How will Virgo find a point of compromise between two of the most contradictory forces in the Universe?

I don’t know, Virgo. I just don’t know.

Good Things: If you passed up a great opportunity sometime in the past year or so, this month offers you a chance to salvage it, by dint of sincere hard work. If it involves romance, children, or a creative project, this goes double, but for some of you it may also be a money-making deal. You’ll know it when you spot it.

Sex Life: I’m sorry, but I’m leaving this entirely to you. It’ll be complicated, that's for sure.
